Kickstarting careers at The Cass

Kickstarter for creatives: Leading Designers and Makers discuss the power of the crowd – 28 November 2017

Date: 8 November 2017

The Cass, London Met’s School of Art, Architecture and Design is proud to present an evening event in association with Kickstarter.

Kickstarter is a successful crowdfunding platform which is built around creativity and creative projects.  Representatives of Kickstarter will join academics and graduates of The Cass for what promises to be an inspirational event.  Joining them will be a group of designers who have already used this crowdfunding platform to launch their products and designs and effectively get their careers underway.

Students and other guests will have the opportunity to hear first-hand from these designers and crowdfunding experts about how they did it and what tips and advice they have for up and coming designers.

There will be presentations from a wide range of speakers, including graduates of The Cass.  Following the presentations there will be a discussion and an opportunity for audience members to put questions to a panel.  Speakers will include:

Peter Marigold - award winning designer, FORMcard inventor and tutor at The Cass

Heather Corcoran - European Design and Technology Outreach Lead, Kickstarter

Max Frommeld - award winning designer and Kickstarter creator of the genius Folding Sledge

Oscar Lhermitte - designer, curator and Kickstarter creator of the phenomenal Moon

Sidekick Creatives

Designers Tim Summers, Ray G Brown, Nick Marschner and Isabel Farchy from The Cass Starters group
