Forging Partnerships Abroad

London Met partners with Spanish university

Journalism and business tutors from London Met flew to Santander, Spain this summer to participate in an annual exam board with our partner university, CESINE

Academic Liaison Tutors Wendy Sloane, Senior Lecturer in Journalism and Bettina Coleman-Schoels, Senior Lecturer in Business Psychology, were making their third trip to the coastal city in Spain's Cantabria region. "The food is excellent, the weather was perfect and Santander is a beautiful place to visit. What's not to like?" asked Sloane.

London Met and CESINE have been partners for the past three years, working on joint degrees in Journalism, International Business Management and AMCPR (Advertising, Marketing, Communications and Public Relations).

"We have been working with CESINE since 2013 and have developed a great working relationship with the academic teams in the institution and their students,” said Claire Bradshaw, Principal Lecturer in International Partnerships at London Met.

“For the first time in 2016-2017, two CESINE business students are coming to London Met for a semester abroad and there are exciting opportunities for London Met journalism students to go and study for a semester in Santander."

Other members of the London Met team included Pat Gray, Academic Leader – Partnerships, David Tye, Senior Assistant Registrar (Assessment & Conferment), and external examiners Cecilio Mar Molinero from the University of Kent, John Revuelta from the University of Napier and Gideon Long, who works for the BBC and The Economist based in Santiago, Chile.
