Cass lecturer Marianne Forrest joins a panel of experts to advise how the work of silversmiths, jewellers and creative practitioners can be adapted for larger work.
Date: 18 September
Marianne Forest, 3D Cluster lead at The Cass, will join a panel of expert silversmiths at the Goldsmiths Centre on 19 September for 'Scaling up: how to work bigger and on an architectural scale' a panel event which will explore how practitioners more used to producing intricate small-scale designs can realise projects on a larger scale.
Marianne will be joined on the panel by Julian Cross, Wally Gilbert, Chris Knight, and Andy Putland who have successfully translated their skills to scale-up, broadening their practice to include architectural commissions and collaborations with individuals, local authorities and a broad range of organisations.
Between them, the evening’s speakers have realised projects as diverse as town centre time-pieces, bridges, security grills, chandeliers and public art. They will come together to share their advice and experiences in a discussion panel aimed at discussing the issues and possibilities of scaling up for jewellers and silversmiths.
