Dr Nick Ridley of the John Grieve Centre in Criminology has been nominated as an academic advisor to the Maritime Security Centre of Excellence, Turkish Navy (MARSECCOE).
In early October Nick, representing London Metropolitan University, gave an input at a two day workshop in Istanbul where new doctrine and ongoing remits were formulated for MARSECCOE, covering illegal immigraion, international piracy and terrorism.
Other delegates were naval personnel from other NATO countries, regional maritime intelligence entres, the private security industry and private shipping companies.
