Student Union President Chrystalle Margallo discusses her experience of being tested for Covid at London Met.
Date: 21 April 2021
Hi Chrystalle! How have you found going to the Covid testing centres at London Met?
My experience of getting tested for Covid at London Met has been quick and easy. The first time I was a bit nervous, but the staff were helpful, responsive and friendly; I felt more assured as I found out many of those working at the testing centre are fellow students.
Why is it important that students coming to campus are getting tested regularly?
It is important for students coming to campus to get tested regularly to keep each other safe. One in three people with the virus don't have symptoms, but they could still pass on the virus to someone who will have a much worse outcome - so it's really important to make sure we are protecting ourselves and others during this pandemic.
What are you most looking forward to doing when the lockdown restrictions are fully lifted?
When the lockdown restrictions are fully lifted, I am looking forward to being able to see my friends, be sociable again and go back to work and speak to students.
Testing is the first step to helping society and the nation get back to somewhat close to normality. By knowing if you or anyone has Covid-19, we can protect our peers and friends whilst continuing our studies.
