Aisling Ni-Chung shortlisted at Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards

Legal Aid Newcomer nomination for LPC student

Date: 09/07/2015

LPC student Aisling Ni-Chuinn was honoured at the recent Legal Aid Practitioners Group (LAPG) Legal Aid Lawyer of the Year Awards.
The awards offer an opportunity to celebrate the work of grassroots lawyers and celebrate the successes of all the nominees.

Aisling was shortlisted in what has been described by organisers as an incredibly tough Legal Aid Newcomer category. For her to be a finalist whilst still a trainee is truly an incredible achievement.

During the ceremony the compere stated in his speech, “Aisling has yet to qualify as a solicitor, but is already being tipped as a future superstar of the profession for her immigration work. Raza Husain QC who worked with her on two difficult cases – EM Eritrea in the Supreme Court, and NA in the high court - says she is ‘extraordinarily superb’. ‘I found it inspirational working with her.’”

Dean Stephen J. Perkins added, "This is such a great achievement for Aisling to be nominated for her hard work on such a great cause. She is really showing her determination and great skill within this area. As always, we are extremely proud of our students’ accomplishments and accolades.”
