Community and engagement
- UK Universities Climate Network: as a member of this network, we collaborate with universities nationwide to advance climate action and sustainability research. Learn more about our involvement with the UK Universities Climate Network.
- London Higher Sustainability Network: as part of London Higher, we work with other universities and colleges in London to promote environmentally friendly practices and collaborate on achieving sustainability goals. Explore our partnerships through London Higher.
Campus sustainability
- Estates Energy & Sustainability Group (EESG): The CEMG is supported at an operational level by the EESG. This is chaired by the Director of Estates and meets monthly to review operational reporting against the Carbon and Environmental Management Plan (CEMP). It includes representatives from the Estates department including operations, projects and the university’s Facilities TFM delivery partner.
- Carbon and Environmental Management Group (CEMG): The CEMG is chaired by the Vice-Chancellor and sets out the environmental management strategy for the university; meeting quarterly to review progress. The group includes representatives from a variety of stakeholders including students, academic staff, Human Resources, Procurement and Estates.

The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are 17 targets agreed upon by all UN Member States in 2015. Their purpose is to create a better and more sustainable future for everyone by 2030. They address major global issues such as poverty, inequality, climate action, and education, requiring all countries to work together to achieve these ambitious targets.
