London Met has continued to deliver on our mission of transforming lives through excellent, accessible education. Our students achieved outstanding results in the National Student Survey, placing us among the sector's leaders for student satisfaction. We've opened a renewed Shoreditch campus and modernised teaching spaces at Aldgate and Holloway, creating inspiring environments that reflect our commitment to quality.
Our research impact continues to grow, with increased external funding for work addressing domestic violence, reimagining cities, and advancing sustainability. Colleagues are gaining recognition for research that makes a real difference locally and internationally, while our students benefit from teaching informed by cutting-edge research.
Preparing for the future
The higher education sector continues to face significant financial pressures, and our results reflect that wider environment. Through this period, we have kept the student experience at the centre of our decisions, investing in learning spaces, strengthening academic and wellbeing support, and ensuring students have what they need to succeed.
London Met remains stable. We are debt-free, hold healthy cash reserves, and continue to invest in our estate and digital infrastructure. The speed with which we have been able to post our results reflects the confidence our governing bodies and auditors have in our financial stability and status as a going concern.
Our financial planning is focused on sustainability, with proactive, measured decisions to manage resources carefully. We have a clear plan to return to surplus while maintaining the high-quality experience our students and staff deserve.
