Professor Julie Hall took up post at the University as Vice-Chancellor on 1 August 2024. The Vice-Chancellor is an ex-officio member of the Board of Governors.

Tijs Broeke joined the Board as an Independent Governor in July 2022. He is the Chair of the Board of Governors.
Independent Governor
Baron Anyangwe joined the Board as an Independent Governor on 19 March 2020 and he is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.

Urmi Dutta-Roy joined the Board of Governors in May 2021. She is the Vice-Chair, Chair of the Audit and Risk Committee, and a member of the Governance and Remuneration Committees.
Valerie joined the Board of Governors as an independent governor in August 2022 and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
David Morrall became a member of the Board of Governors in November 2023. David is the Chair of the Remuneration Committee.
Munesh Mahtani joined London Metropolitan University’s Board of Governors in August 2023. Munesh is the Chair of the Governance Committee.
Senior Independent Governor
Muniya joined the Board of Governors in August 2022 and serves on the People, Finance and Resources Committee and Remuneration Committee.
Academic Governor
Olaide Phillips was elected as Academic Governor and joined the Board of Governors in November 2025. Olaide Phillips is the principal lecturer in psychology at the SSSP.
Professor Petra Wend joined the Board of Governors as an independent governor in March 2023. Petra serves on the People, Finance and Resources Committee.
Student Governor
Rajjo Mondol joined the Board in June 2025 and is the Students' Union President and is a member of the Governance Committee.
Andrea Stark joined the Board of Governors in March 2023 and serves as a Chair of the People, Finance and Resources Committee and is a member of the Remuneration Committee.
Staff Governor
Claire Locke joined the Board of Governors as a Staff Governor in October 2024 and is a member of the Audit and Risk Committee.
Fahmida Yesmin joined the Board of Governors as a Student Governor in October 2024 and is the Vice President for Education at the Students' Union.
Sanam Arora joined the Board on 20th May 2025. Sanam serves on the Audit and Risk Committee.
Gerry McDonald joined the Board on 1st May 2025 as an Independent Governor and serves on the Audit and Risk Committee and Governance Committee.
