An introduction to T4 – compulsory for all new T4 users

Welcome to our T4 introductory training. Before accessing our website it is compulsory you do the online training and take a short test.

In these videos you'll learn how to:

  • log in and navigate T4
  • create simple text-based content types
  • use the photograph and document library
  • upload images to go alongside text-based content

You’ll also learn a bit about best practice when publishing to the web, the University's brand guidelines and the importance of making our website content accessible.

Recommendations before starting

Please ensure you have read the guidance on 'Publishing to the web' and familiarised yourself with the 'T4 user guide' before watching the videos.

Start learning and watch the videos

You will need to follow the steps in the two videos below to create your own page within the training section of T4. It is therefore advised that you watch the video on a separate device so that you're able to follow the steps on your computer more easily. Once you've created your training page, you will need to complete the short multiple choice test below and then you're ready to request your T4 account!

What next?

If you've finished the introductory training video, well done – you should now have created your very first page in T4. The next thing you need to do is complete this very quick test. We'll check this, along with the page you've created, and get back to you with any feedback that you may find useful.

If you haven't already, make sure you request your T4 account via the "Becoming a website contributor" tab on the Staff Zone and someone in ITS will be in touch to confirm when your account has been set up.
