Pulitzer Prize winner Alan Rusbridger examines the global decline of news models and the urgent need to protect factual integrity during a public lecture on 23 April 2026.
Date: 17 April 2026
The Survival of Facts
The global economic model for news is currently facing significant challenges. This instability has created a landscape where populism thrives, often leaving the public uncertain about which information sources to trust.
Alan Rusbridger, a Visiting Professor at the University and former editor-in-chief of Guardian newspapers, will explore these themes in his upcoming professorial lecture. The talk, titled "Can facts survive an age of information chaos?", will examine how society can return to a state where verified facts are central to public life.
