Things to do this Halloween

From fright-nights to underground raves, we've found you the best events in London this Halloween.

Let’s admit it. If it was still acceptable for a twenty-something to go trick-or-treating we would most certainly be knocking down every door in our area demanding some free candy. But low and behold apparently it’s only custom until you hit puberty and all of a sudden people stop pretending to be scared of you.

Fortunately for you, the fun doesn’t have to stop there. Sure, the free candy is no-go but I have no doubt a free cocktail will change your mind.

And what better way to celebrate Halloween with a spooky sunrise tequila or two? Here’s the top events you need to attend this Halloween.

A Halloween Séance, The Last Tuesday Society, 24 October, 6.30pm

Situated in Dalston, The Last Tuesday Society, a museum of curiosity, will be holding a live séance with its audience. Hosted by illusionist Philipp Oberlohr who has been described by The Independent as “Australia’s Derren Brown’, the night promises an “immersive experience of supernatural origin” along with Victorian-era cocktails to pair.

Fright Night at Forty Hall, 27 October, 6.30-9pm

Who doesn’t love a fright night? I know I do. For one night only, Forty Hall Estate in Enfield is transforming into a haunted house complete with cobwebs, creepy characters and more. Explore the building by candlelight as you make your way through the almost 300-year-old historic house. Calm your nerves after with a drink at the bar afterwards.

The Halloween Raveyard, The Vaults, 27 and 28 October, 8pm

Ever fancied an underground rave? Once used as a morgue, the vaults at Waterloo are hosting a night not to be forgotten. The Victorian-built space situated underneath Waterloo Station will be holding a two-night rave hosted by DJs along with bizarre bands, devilish decorations and creepy characters.

Horniman Halloween Fair, Horniman Museum and Gardens, 28 and 29 October, 10.30am-4.30pm

Night-time not really your thing? How about the Halloween day-time fair in Forest Hill? With festive food stalls, arts and crafts and a chance to get up close and personal with some spooky wildlife, the Horniman Halloween Fair is a great family day out.

‘The Thing’ screening, The Cutty Sark, 31 October, 6pm

Watch a screening of the 1982 cult classic The Thing on board The Cutty Sark in Greenwich. Situated in the lower hold surrounded by the ship’s historic tea chests, immerse yourself in the Antarctic alien apocalypse horror.
