The Innovation and Sustainability in the Built Environment Research Group tackles some of today's biggest challenges in how we design, build, and manage our cities and communities. Our team brings together experts from different fields to work on some of the world’s grand challenges like climate change, urbanisation, decarbonisation, digital innovation, and the circular economy.
Our researchers partner directly with businesses, government officials, local councils, and community groups around the world to co-develop practical solutions that work in real-world settings. Whether it's designing greener buildings, planning sustainable infrastructure, or improving how we maintain our built spaces, we focus on creating environments that are fair, inclusive, environmentally responsible, and able to withstand future challenges.
