Joseph Ijoyemi is a multidisciplinary artist, lecturer, and co-founder of The Collective Makers. With a strong background in both creative practice and education, Joseph is passionate about building artistic collaboration and supporting emerging talent.
Holding BA Digital and Lens Media and an MA in Fine Art, Joseph has developed a diverse skill set that spans various artistic disciplines, including painting installation, sound performance, public sculpture and multimedia. Their work explores themes of social issues, identity and black history and they have exhibited in Nunnery Gallery, Royal Academy and Camden Art Centre.
In addition to their artistic career, Joseph has extensive experience in education, currently working as a lecturer. In this role, they guide and mentor students, helping them refine their creative processes and develop professional practices outside of University. They have also worked in previous roles such as a co curator and co producer at Royal Museums Greenwich.
As a co-founder of The Collective Makers, Joseph plays a key role in facilitating creative projects, workshops, and exhibitions that bring artists together to collaborate and showcase their work. Their dedication to building inclusive creative communities and supporting interdisciplinary art forms continues to shape their practice and professional engagements.
Joseph has extensive experience teaching across various areas of contemporary art and professional practice, with a particular focus on Public Art, Funding, and Commissions.
