Eva Nicotra is a Senior Lecturer in Creative Industries at London Metropolitan University, where she serves as the Course Leader for the Events Management BA, Events Management and Marketing BA, and the International Events, Leisure and Tourism Management MSc. She has over 15 years of experience teaching in Higher Education, following a professional career in live music and charity events.
Biography
Eva Nicotra is an accomplished events professional with experience in venue management, event planning, and live music programming and promotion. Before joining London Metropolitan University, she worked for a prominent UK-based music promotion and venue management company and served as a director at an events management company delivering live events, charity fundraisers, concerts, and festivals.
Since joining London Met, Eva has designed and delivered a wide range of modules, including event planning and management, events marketing, sponsorship and fundraising, event experience management, conference management, and contemporary issues in events. She is particularly proud of her longstanding experience coordinating student-led events as part of the curriculum.
Eva also supervises both undergraduate and postgraduate dissertations and consultancy projects. As Course Leader, she oversees the Events Management programmes at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels at London Metropolitan University. She has been a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy since 2015.
Eva has co-authored a book in the field of event marketing and sponsorship—an area of keen interest alongside her focus on live music and festival management, the night-time economy, and, more recently, business events. She is passionate about bridging the gap between theory and practice in event management education, ensuring students gain both academic insight and real-world experience.
