Biography
Dr. Shafqat received his PhD from the University of Bradford, UK in 2008. His doctoral research provided significant insights into pedagogical debates surrounding emerging business course models, formative and adaptive teaching strategies, and the impact of technological innovation on business and education. His study developed frameworks for the effective delivery of modules including Digital Business Solutions, Project Management, Risk Analysis, Virtual Supply Chain, Operations Management, Organisational Learning, Human Resource Management, and Technology Management. He is a Full Member of the Association for Project Management (MAPM), UK, and a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Logistics and Transport (FCILT), UK.
Dr. Shafqat has extensive academic experience in both the UK and Pakistan. He has held faculty positions at the Newport Business School, University of Wales, Newport, and Northampton Business School, University of Northampton, contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching in Project Management, Technology Management, and Business Information Systems. He served as Director of the Islamabad Business School (IBS) at Quaid-i-Azam University, and as Head of the Engineering Management Department at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, overseeing a diverse student portfolio from various engineering backgrounds. Prior to NUST, he was Assistant Professor and Head of the Management Sciences Department at Bahria University, Islamabad, managing MBA, MPhil, and PhD programs while teaching across Project Management, Operations Management, and Technology Management.
Since 2016, he has been an Adjunct Professor at the Army School of Logistics, Murree, Pakistan, delivering project management training to Army logistics staff, and providing senior management project management training to officers at the Pakistan Air Force Academy, Risalpur.
Dr. Shafqat has specialized research and academic expertise in Project Management, complemented by extensive experience in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Digital Business, Strategic Management, Human Resource Management, Enterprise Resource Planning, System Modelling, E-learning, Enterprise Application Integration, Financial Management, and Knowledge Management. He has been invited to present research seminars and lead expert panels at numerous centers of excellence at major universities.
He serves on program and editorial committees of several ICT and Knowledge Management journals and conferences, including the Journal of Knowledge Management, Management Decision Journal, Technology Analysis & Strategic Management Journal, International Journal of Value Chain Management, and the International Journal of Enterprise Information Management. Dr. Shafqat has over 75 publications, including ISI-indexed, refereed, and impact-factor journals.
