Dr Maja Myhre

Biography

Maja is a Senior Lecturer in Nursing and Clinical Skills and the Course Leader for Adult Nursing (BSc). She completed her degree in general nursing in Norway in 2011. She has since worked in various areas of healthcare, including A&E, urgent care, and forensic and high security mental health wards. Her main clinical experience and current clinical practice is in community nursing with a particular focus on migrant health and vulnerable populations. Most recently, Maja led a community project focusing on improving health outcomes in the migrant population in an urban area of Norway (2022).

Maja holds a PhD in Health Policy from London Metropolitan University, completed in 2024. In her thesis, Maja explored healthcare provision to undocumented migrants in the Norwegian public healthcare system. She is also holds a Master of Science in Public Health from 2015.

Maja has extensive experience as a higher education professional and in course leadership, and has taught at London Metropolitan University since 2016. She has also published on educational strategies in higher education, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.
