Dr Abiodun Oyetunji

Biography

Dr. Oyetunji holds a PhD in Built and Environmental Sciences, with doctoral research focused on how flood risk influences residential property investment decisions. His multidisciplinary expertise spans the wider built environment, including but not limited to sustainability, flood risk management, housing and urban studies, and climate-resilient development practices. Prior to joining London Metropolitan University, he held academic positions in real estate at the University of Benin and the Federal University of Technology, Akure, where he gained extensive experience in teaching, research, and pastoral care. He has published widely in peer-reviewed journals, serves as a reviewer for leading international outlets, and has been recognised for outstanding reviewership by Emerald Publishing. His teaching philosophy emphasises students as partners and co-creators of knowledge, reflecting a strong commitment to bridging theory with professional practice. He equips students with the analytical skills and industry insight needed to succeed in the built environment sector and, through teaching, mentorship, and research, seeks to inspire the next generation of professionals while contributing knowledge that advances innovation, resilience, and best practice across the field.
