Support students to develop their employability skills

There are many ways to support students in developing their employability skills, you can play a key role in helping students transition from education to the workplace. By offering guidance, sharing your expertise, and supporting opportunities that build essential skills, you can help students develop the confidence and experience they need to succeed.

Whether through mentorship, involvement in initiatives, or creating connections with industry leaders, your engagement helps shape the next generation of talent, ensuring they are prepared for the challenges of the professional world.

Become a Career Mentor to a student

London Met's Career Mentoring scheme helps students achieve their potential through a tailored one to one relationship. You can enhance your coaching and leadership skills and inspire the next generation by becoming a mentor to one of our students. The scheme runs for approximately five months and it is expected that mentors and students will have a minimum of five meetings.

Talks in the curriculum - sharing your experience

We work closely with our academics to identify opportunities for employers to add value to the curriculum and bring topics to life with examples from the world of business, employers and third sector organisations. We have a wide range of professionally focussed courses which would benefit from your input.

Support a hackathon

Hackathons are a great way to bring your expertise to our curriculum by facilitating problem solving workshops to challenge our students and develop their problem solving, team working and analytical skills.

Supporting our entrepreneurial and freelancer students

London Met is home to many enterprising students. If you are interested in helping our students develop their entrepreneurial skills, there are several ways you can get involved in London Met Enterprise’s educational activities and events. Whether mentoring an aspiring entrepreneur, joining a judging panel, or offering to fund projects, any real-world industry support is beneficial to our students.

Sponsorship and Corporate Social Responsibility Opportunities

As part of implementing your Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) agenda, sponsoring a student or student activities can help address issues such as social equity, gender balance and community relations.

Business Advisory Boards

All our Schools have Business Advisory Boards that facilitate our course teams to develop an up to date professionally focused curriculum. This ensures our graduates have the current skills, knowledge and experience that employers are looking for in their workforce.

If you are interested in any of our range of subjects linked to your expertise, contact us to find out about getting involved.
