The Netherlands

English language entry requirements

For Bachelors: Students who have obtained a grade 8+ in English in VWO will not need to take additional English exams.  Otherwise applicants will need to take the standard English exams.

For Masters: Students will be accepted if  three of more of their UG courses have been taught and assessed in English, and they have obtained at least a grade 7 or above

For Entry to International Foundation Programme (IFP):

Students with at least an overall grade of 7 in their Hoger Algemeen Voortgezet Onderwijs (HAVO) OR at least an overall grade of 6 in their Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs (VWO) OR Middelbaar Beroeps Onderwijs (MBO) level 3 (Vakopleiding) with a grade average of 7 or higher

For Entry to Bachelors/Undergraduate courses :

We would expect students to have one of the following qualifications:

Students with at least a 7 grade in their ‘Voorbereidend Wetenschappelijk Onderwijs’ eindexamen (VWO: Gymnasium A/B , Atheneum A/B)

Propaedeuse (1st year certificate) from the Hoger Beroeps Onderwijs (HBO) with a grade average of 7 or higher

Middelbaar Beroeps Onderwijs (MBO) level 4 (Middenkaderopleiding) in a relevant field with a grade average of 7 or higher

For Entry to Masters/Postgraduate courses :

Students who have one of the following will be considered for masters courses: ‘Kandidaatsexamen/Doctoraal/Bachelor’or ‘Getuigschrift Hoger Beroepsonderwijs’ (HBO) with a grade of no less than 7.

For MBA, students also need three years of work experience at managerial level and a min. IELTS 6.5 or or TOEFL IBT overall 91+
(reading = 21, listening = 22, speaking = 23, writing = 21)
