Finland

London Metropolitan University has approximately 60 students from Finland studying on undergraduate, postgraduate and programs. There are also Finnish students within the Erasmus framework of study.

For Entry to International Foundation Programme
Students who have completed the Matriculation Examination (Ylioppilastutkinoto/Studentexamen) with an average of B/3 or higher or  students with Lukion paatotodistus require an average of 7.0. The programme provides a year of academic study and English preparation. Upon successful completion students can progress to undergraduate study.

For Entry to Bachelors/Undergraduate courses
Students who have completed the Matriculation Examination (Ylioppilastutkinoto/Studentexamen) with minimum C4 /Cum laude approbatur. Students with Lukion paatotodistus require minimum average of 8 or above.

NB: If you have studied English at Upper Secondary level and have obtained a grade E or above, you do not need to take a formal English language qualification.

For Entry to Masters/Postgraduate courses
Suitable for students who have a Kandidaatti/Kandidat (Ekonomi, Diplomi-insinri, Arkkitehti, Lisensiaatti, Proviisori) or a Maisteri/Magister with a grade 2 or "HT" (hyvä tieto) (good) or above in the scale 1 to 3 or grade 4 or erittain hyva (very good) in the scale 1 - 5. Students will be considered for postgraduate studies if they hold a Kandidaatti AMK/YHS or a Kandidaatti/Kandidat with relevant work experience.

For the MBA, students also need three years of work experience at managerial level with a minimum IELTS of 6.5 or TOEFL IBT overall 91+
(reading = 21, listening = 22, speaking = 23, writing = 21)

English Language Entry requirements

International Foundation Programme

IELTS 4.5 overall with at least 4.5 in all individual scores

Undergraduate

The university will accept students who have obtained a grade 5/M in the Matriculation Ylioppilastutkinoto or a grade 9 or 10 in English in the Lukio (High School Leaving Certificate) or

IELTS 5.5 overall with at least 5.5 in all individual scores

TOEFL iBT 87+ (min). (Listening = 22, Reading = 21, Writing = 21, Speaking = 23)

Postgraduate

IELTS 6.0 overall with at least 5.5 in all individual scores

TOEFL iBT 87+ (min). (Listening = 22, Reading = 21, Writing = 21, Speaking = 23)
