Adebayo Osibote

Adebayo is a senior lecturer in social work at the School of Social Sciences and Professions

Adebayo Osibote is a qualified and registered Social Worker with over fifteen years of pre and post-qualification working experiences. Adebayo is currently teaching modules in undergraduate and master's programs. Prior to teaching roles, Adebayo worked in various private and statutory establishments in health and social care settings including hospitals, looked after children in care homes, a secure training centre (teenage prison), NHS Ambulance services and a community mental health team, across different countys in England. Adebayo completed a Master's in Education (Social Justice) which further equipped and propelled him to support students, especially those from less privileged or individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds.

Previously, a lecturer in health and social care at three different organisations, Adebayo taught various health and social modules to a wide range of qualifications to mature and diverse student populations. These includded vocational qualifications, foundation degrees and Access to Higher Education. He was also a mentor to PGCE students. His teaching includes theory-based, academic and practical skills lectures to large groups of between 20 to 60 students.
 
Presently, Adebayo is teaching courses such as Assessing, Planning and Professional Ethics, Applied Law in Social Work, Readiness to Direct Practice and Development Across Lifespan in undergraduate and master's courses.
 
His interest is supporting students in achieving their aspirations through encouragement and guidance and helping to identify and refine their strengths, experiences and prior knowledge and skills to successfully complete their courses/ disciplines.
