Careers
Professionally qualified staff are available on both campuses to help you make informed decisions about your future.

Career Development and Employment Services can assist you in your career planning throughout your time at London Metropolitan University
All services are available forcurrent students and those graduated in the past three years. For up to three year following graduation, our Employmen Service will also continue to give you free access to our online job vacancy system. We have links with employers in the UK and elsewhere to help with your future job search activities.
Careers advisers offer one-to-one sessions of impartial advice and guidance on employment and further study. A range of workshops are held through the year, covering topics such as CVs, how to
complete an application form and what to do at an interview. Regular psychometric testing sessions are also held to give you experience of what employers expect in the selection process.
The Employment Service provides drop-in sessions at both campuses to enable students to view vacancies in person and
to answer employment-related queries. We offer free access to our online vacancy system, Employment Online, which lists vacancies for full-time, part-time, temporary, casual, vacation work and placement/internships. The system also advertises opportunities for students who wish to work within the University.
Employers visit the University throughout the year to exhibit at Job Fairs and to give presentations, workshops and seminars to students who are then better informed and more able to make decisions about their careers.
See www.londonmet.ac.uk/employmentservice for more information.
Reach provides you with the opportunity to develop professional
skills through practical activities including voluntary work
experience, mentoring young people and tutoring students. Information
is also available on the careers of former graduates. More information
can be found at http://reach.londonmet.ac.uk
The Career Development and Employment Services offers an online vacancy system called Prospects Net. This provides information on opportunities for part-time, full-time, vacation and voluntary work. The system also advertises opportunities for students who wish to work within the University. We recommend that full-time students do not take employment for more than 15 hours per week. Visit Student Services Employment Service for more information.
Employer presentations are organised throughout the year to enable you to meet them
in person and to learn more about what they have to offer. Two part-time job fairs are also
held each year.
Career Planning is not something that can be done overnight; we recommend that you start early and beat the rush.
