The quality of our teaching is reflected in our QAA scores, which include ‘excellent’ grades in English, Ethics, Film Studies, Performing Arts, Philosophy and Theatre Studies.
Many of our staff are internationally renowned for their contributions in their field of research. We host lecture series, seminars and a creative writing
competition on an annual basis.
Students on our language degrees have the opportunity to study a semester or year abroad and also benefit from the University’s excellent language centre. We are also responsible for the Open Language Programme, a scheme that allows all students at the University to study a number of languages at ten different levels.
In the last decade, we havegrown substantially in the creative arts area. These courses involve a mixture of theory and practice. Close contact with practitioners is a key part of the teaching. Students on these courses enjoy the use of excellent studio and screening facilities.
We have established strong community links over the years and have links to further education colleges and many community organisations. There are also
specialist collections, such as The Women’s Library and our unique archive of the Irish in Britain.
There is a regular supplement of international exchange students from both Europe and the United States each semester. Opportunities for Study Abroad are available to all students for a semester.
London Met has joined forces with Graeae, Britain's foremost theatre company of people with physical and sensory impairments to create a specially designed Performing Arts Centre. This will be the first professional performing arts space designed with and for disabled students.
