Global Game Jam returns to London Met

The Global Game Jam is the world's largest game creation event taking place around the globe, with thousands of participants in over 900 locations.

London Met is set to host an event at this year’s Global Game Jam (GGJ), an annual initiative which, over the course of a weekend, aims to empower individuals worldwide to learn, experiment, and create together through the medium of games.

Anyone is welcome to join the event which will gather at London Met’s enterprise hub, Accelerator, on Friday 29 January, 5-9pm, where people can meet, greet, network, brainstorm ideas and form teams; moving their ideas online over the weekend.

After Friday evening, the groups will  switch to virtual mode and liaise using Discord and Miro over the weekend, linking to their games on itch.io to showcase to other Jammers on Sunday afternoon.

There will be visits from leading figures in the games industry including Tech Director for Flavourworks, Alex Whittaker, Tiziano Mosca and team from Project AR, and podcasters from Game Dev London.

GGJ is the world's largest game creation event taking place around the globe, with thousands of participants in over 900 locations - it's not a competition, it's an opportunity to collaborate with other game developers, to network within the games community, and especially for students to increase confidence and boost skills.
