About us
The Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities provides a vibrant, stimulating and supportive study environment where you can choose from a range of flexible courses taught by world-leading experts.
Our courses are strongly linked to the world of employment, leading to outstanding career-building opportunities. Our location in central London and the public, private and voluntary sector connections of our lecturers and professors, mean that our students have the very best work placement opportunities. We also maintain very strong relationships with partner organisations and professional bodies which recognise and accredit many of our courses.
The Faculty has an outstanding reputation for research, with academic staff contributing regularly to industry journals, advisory groups and governmental policy, as well gaining regular public exposure through the press and broadcast media.
80% of research in the social work, social policy and media and communications area was judged to be ‘world leading’, ‘internationally excellent’ or ‘internationally recognised’ in the latest Government Research Assessment Exercise.
