Dr Bruce Pilbeam
Senior Lecturer in Politics and International Relations
BA (Warwick), PhD (Sheffield). Dr Pillbeam joined the Department in 2005 and now acts as course leader for American Studies.
His publications include:
Conservatism in Crisis? Anglo-American Conservatism after the Cold War (2003), together with articles in journals including Political Studies and the Journal of Political Ideologies.
His main research interests are within the areas of American politics and political ideas, with a particular focus on contemporary conservatism.
In teaching, he leads the modules
- Modern American Government (UG intermediate level),
- Contemporary Issues in American Society (UG honours level) and
- One Nation Under God: Religion and Politics in the United States (MA).
