Welcome to the Writing Centre
The Writing Centre is a friendly and exciting free service for all students of the University (undergraduate and postgraduate).
We offer one-hour, one-to-one tutorials to support students with all aspects of their writing, from coming up with ideas to revising final drafts. We work with you to help you improve your writing. Whether you are working on an essay, report, dissertation or any other assignment, we can help. Students from all disciplines are welcome. See here for more information.

- Visit Reception at the Writing Centre (CMB-20 Basement, Calcutta House). Nearest tube station: Aldgate East. OR in the Learning Centre, Holloway Rd. in the LDU drop-in study space on the ground floor of the library. Nearest tube station: Holloway Road.
- Please book ONE tutorial at a time and no more than one per week. Reservations made for a series of weeks in advance will be deleted. This is to allow all students the opportunity to reserve a session.

Writing Essays at University
(PDF, 1001KB) is a practical, user-friendly guide to writing for assessment that includes students' experiences of assessment and feedback, students' understandings and misunderstandings of assessment criteria and students' advice to new students.
FUNDING OPPORTUNITY FOR L&T PROJECTS - "SWAP" SCHEME
Funding is offered to support small-scale projects focused on the
development of creative approaches to enhancing students' reading,
note-making and/or academic writing for assessment purposes.
These may be individual or team projects, which should aim for completion by September 2010. Decisions on successful bids are expected by mid/late November 2009.
All LondonMet staff involved in teaching and/or the support of learning
are eligible to submit proposals for small (£1000) or medium (£2000)
grants. The deadline is MONDAY 9TH NOVEMBER 2009.
