Isaac Sorinola

Isaac joined the Board in October 2023 as Academic Governor. Isaac is also a member of the People, Finance and Resource Commitee.

Isaac is qualified as a physiotherapist 27 years ago and obtained a PhD at King's College London in 2006. He worked for many years at King's College as an academic, leading their physiotherapy programme, before moving to London Metropolitan University in November 2021 to join our School of Human Sciences course leader for the newly established Physiotherapy MSc course.

Isaac has extensive research experience in neurophysiology, clinical trials, qualitative methodology, neurorehabilitation and PhD student supervision. He is an external examiner for many pre-registration physiotherapy programmes in the UK and Europe and is a PhD examiner.

He is a primary investigator and has held grants from the Dunhill Medical Trust and Research for Patient Benefit funding stream of the National Institute of Health Research.

Isaac has done a lot of work with individuals suffering from strokes in the UK and individuals suffering from chronic low back pain in rural Nigeria.

In his current role Isaac is developing and establishing a new suite of pre-registration physiotherapy programmes which contribute to the health workforce needs in London and beyond. He also supports allied health research programmes.
