Study Abroad
London Metropolitan University's Study Abroad Programme is located within the International Programmes Office, is based at North Campus (Holloway Road) and is part of the Student Recruitment, Marketing and Communications department.
The International Programmes Office at London Metropolitan University has been running the Study Abroad Programme in conjunction with the State University of New York at Cortland for 25 years. It is validated by the Middle States Association Commission on Higher Education (of which London Met is accredited), and attracts students worldwide. Programmes commence twice a year, in the autumn and spring semesters. Formal teaching is preceded by a week's induction which includes reception, registration and orientation. Students are fully integrated into the academic and social life of London Metropolitan University. The University has clubs for all social activities, and offers a wide range of fitness, sport and recreation facilities.
London is one of the most exciting, vibrant cities in the world. All of the capital's theatres, art galleries, museums and concert halls are easily accessible. Plus, many students find that the University's neighbourhood boroughs of Camden, Islington and the City of London and East end of London also offer plenty of variety with the markets and local pubs. There is also the areas of Highgate Village, Hampstead Heath nearby and a growing number of jazz clubs in the area. For those who like to travel at weekends, major British and European Cities such as Edinburgh, Paris, Dublin and Amsterdam are within easy reach and Euro Star trains from London's Waterloo station transport visitors to Paris in under three hours.
