Thousands visit The Cass for Summer Show launch

Opening night of art and design show sees over 2,000 visitors flock to The Cass

Date: 17 June 2014

Over two thousand visitors attended the official launch of this year’s The Cass Summer Show for Art and Design – one of the biggest showcases of graduate talent in London.

The event saw five floors of The Cass’s Central House building transformed into a huge gallery, complete with a skyline bar, displaying the impressive work of final year London Met students.

Students, staff, families and friends mingled with business guests, agents, and gallerists at the launch of the exhibition, which runs until 21 June.

Festivities spilled onto the sunny pavements of Aldgate which were decorated with coloured vinyls complementing the vibrant design scheme for the show.

Michael Upton, Academic Leader at The Cass, said: "This is one of our best exhibitions yet and shows off not only the fantastic work by our students but also our new studio spaces in Central House.

“The show comes at the end of a year of great student success stories for The Cass, with awards being won and many successful projects undertaken. We’re now looking forward to the Architecture Exhibition, which opens with a Private View on the 26 June.”

The show was also promoted this year on large hoardings on Braham Street around the new Aldgate Tower development, thanks to the support of Brookfield Multiplex
