The US Department of Education (DoE) provides comprehensive information about applying for direct loans. This information is summarised in the London Met financial aid webpages, but we recommend you also read the DoE website. The key steps in the application process are outlined below.
Deadlines for financial aid applications to be received by London Met
|Loan processing will begin for September entrants on 19 July 2017 and the deadline is 28 August 2017. Please submit your application well before this deadline. No applications will be processed after the deadline.||
Loan processing will begin for January entrants on 6 November 2017 and the deadline is 8 December 2017. Please submit your application well before this deadline. No applications will be processed after this dealine.
No further loans for the academic year 2017/18 will be processed after 2 December 2017.
- Please complete financial awareness counselling and then go to the first time applicants link.
- If this is your second or third application with London Met and you are an undergraduate student click on subsequent applications. You are encouraged to undertake financial awareness counselling if you have not done so already.
- Please note that financial aid only covers expenses related to education and basic living costs during study periods. Costs not essential to your studies (eg cell phone charges) cannot be included in the cost of attendance. The school issues a list of recommended reading for each class, but you will not usually be required to purchase books for your classes.
