Rubber Compound Design
26th – 29th September 2011
Description
4 day short course for those who wish to develop their knowledge of rubber technology beyond a rudimentary level.
Detailed Description
This 4 day short course is designed to satisfy the needs of graduates in science, engineering and technology, and others of a similar background working in product design and in research and development areas, who wish to develop their knowledge of rubber technology beyond a rudimentary level. The course is structured in a way as to impart basic knowledge of the way in which rubber compounds can be designed to meet certain service requirements. Although delivery of the course is largely by means of formal lectures with clarifying examples, practical sessions are included to give participants the opportunity to use some of the main principles covered during lectures. Properties and applications of some selected speciality elastomers and recycled rubber are also discussed.
This short course can be taken as part of an MSc in Manufacture and Design for Polymer Products.
NB assessed post course assignment work can be undertaken by candidates who wish to extend the learning process The course is suitable for anybody wishing to learn about the injection moulding process, injection mould design, injection moulded polymer product design and related subjects.
This course awards a London Metropolitan Polymer Centre certificate of participation to each attendee. This course is recognised as an IoM3 accredited professional development activity.
