Principles of Polymer Science

16th – 19th May 2011

4 day short course for those who wish to gain a better understanding of the ways in which polymers are formed, specifity of polymer molecular structure, and the way in which polymers in solid state react to applied stress and the environment.

Detailed Description

This 4 day short course is designed to satisfy the needs of graduates in science, engineering and technology, and others of a similar background working in product design and in research and development areas, who wish to gain a better understanding of the ways in which polymers are formed, specifity of polymer molecular structure, and the way in which polymers in solid state react to applied stress and the environment. Although delivery of the course is largely by means of formal lectures with clarifying examples, laboratory sessions are included to give participants a better understanding of the subject matter as well as gaining practical experience in polymer characterisation and testing.

This short course can be taken as part of an MSc Manufacture and Design for Polymer Products.

NB assessed post course assignment work can be undertaken by candidates who wish to extend the learning process The course is suitable for anybody wishing to learn about the injection moulding process, injection mould design, injection moulded polymer product design and related subjects.

This course awards a London Metropolitan Polymer Centre certificate of participation to each attendee. This course is recognised as an IoM3 accredited professional development activity.

Bookings:

There is a fee of £875.00 for this course.
