Principles of Injection Moulding

5th – 8th December 2011

Description

4 day short course for those who wish to have a better understanding of a major processing technique for plastics.

Detailed Description

This 4 day short course is designed to satisfy the needs of graduates in science, engineering and technology, and others of a similar background working in product design and in research and development areas, who wish to have a better understanding of a major processing technique for plastics. Although delivery of the course is largely by means of formal lectures accompanied with clarifying examples, practical sessions are included to give participants a better understanding of the process. Recent developments in the design of injection mouldling machines are also discussed.

This short course can be taken as part of an MSc in Manufacture and Design for Polymer Products.

assignment work can be undertaken by candidates who wish to extend the learning process The course is suitable for anybody wishing to learn about the injection moulding process, injection mould design, injection moulded polymer product design and related subjects.

This course awards a London Metropolitan Polymer Centre certificate of participation to each attendee. This course is recognised as an IoM3 accredited professional development activity.

Pre-requisites:

There are no pre-requesites for this course. No prior knowledge or experience is assumed for either the theoretical or practical elements.
