Bilingualism Workshop
Raising children in a multilingual family:
A half-day Orientation Course
Are you and/or your partner native speaker of a language other than English? Are you unsure about how to speak this language with your child? Do you work with bilingual children? Are you unsure about how to support them? Have you encountered doubts, worries or difficulties in relation to bilingualism?
With the increased opportunities to travel around the world, university exchanges, international business, immigration and contacts via the Internet the number children being raised in bilingual families has soared.
This workshop aims to bring together parents and educators or people involved in raising, educating, tutoring or working with children in a multicultural environment. The objective is to explore strategies used, consciously or not, by parents in bringing up their children to be bilingual, taking into account the individual circumstances of each family environment.
The workshop will include presentations, group discussion and sharing of information.
