Routes to EYPS
The Key Partnership offers four pathways to the Early Years Professional Status (EYPS):
EYPS Graduate Practitioner Pathway (GPP) – usually 6 months (part time) Designed for graduates currently working in the sector with experience who require a small amount of learning or further experience before they can demonstrate the EYP Standards.
EYPS Undergraduate Practitioner Pathway (UPP) – usually 12 months (part time) Designed for employees with an EY foundation degree (level 5) current working in the sector with experience who require a small amount of learning or further experience before they can demonstrate the EYP Standards.
EYPS Graduate Entry Pathway (GEP) – usually 12 months (full time) Designed for new entrants to the workforce with little or no experience of working with young children. Candidates will undertake university based tutorials and block placements in appropriate early years settings. This route to EYPS is linked to the Post Graduate Certificate in Early Years Practice.
EYPS Undergraduate Entry Pathway (UEP) – usually 12 months (full time) attached to the final or penultimate year of an undergraduate early childhood studies degree.
