I started working at the University in 1995 as a part-time visiting lecturer to the community nursing courses. Since then my job has developed as policies in primary care have changed. I am now a full time senior lecturer in primary care and I am Pathway Leader for the Community Nursing and Nurse Practitioner programmes. I also support the community nursing students who take the Practice Educator programme (PG Cert ILT) and deliver a range of CPD activities in local Primary Care Trusts
My professional primary care background is in District Nursing (1984-1988) during which time I worked both in central London and rural Oxfordshire after which, I moved into Practice Nursing. I have worked as a Practice Nurse in North London since 1989 and I currently do one clinical session a fortnight in a general practice in Islington.
I convene the Management of Minor Conditions module, which developed in response to local need from a group of practice nurses. The module is part of the Specialist Practice programme at under-graduate and post-graduate levels and can also be taken as a module on its own.
I live in North London with my husband and three daughters.
Qualifications:
RGN (1980)
Dip HE (London) (1989)
PG Dip Specialist Practice (Practice Nursing) (2003)
PG Cert ILT (2004)
