Tim Parsons becomes a fixture on the Islam channel

Tim Parsons from the of criminology subject area of the Faculty of Applied Social Sciences has been asked to appear on the Islam Channel on four occasions over the past few months. Topics for discussion have included, Islamophobia in the police service, Islamophobia in the public square, the burkha ban in France and most recently the UK counter-terrorism strategy. The Islam Channel provides alternative news, current affairs and entertainment programming from an Islamic perspective, often asking for Tim's experience and research in Islam and the securitization of Muslim society in Europe.
Tim Parsons teaches both on the Professional Doctorate in Policing, Security and Community Safety and on the undergraduate degree in Criminology.
