China Industry & Cultural Experience Programme
In June 2010 staff and students from FASS Media, Information & Communications flew to Beijing for what we hope will be the first of many study tours in China with our partners at the Institute for Cultural Industries at Peking University (ICIPKU). Students experienced the historical sites of China including the Great Wall, Ming Tombs, the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square as well as gaining privileged access to leading players in China's digital and television industries, such as Beijing TV and Crystal Digital, the official digital media supplier of the Beijing Olympics.
Staff from ICIPKU provided students with an exciting introduction to Chinese media systems and ICIPKU students were on hand to "buddy up" with our London Met students and show them the unofficial, student experience of China!
We're now asking for students interested in taking the tour in 2012 to put their names forward. Details are below and students should email p.kerr@londonmet.ac.uk to express an interest. Places are strictly limited and open on a first come, first served basis: get your name in early to book a place.
