The Community Health subject area aims to create a stimulating environment in which you can learn about real world issues, explain them and think about ways of tackling health and social problems through a variety of means including the more effective delivery of services. We do this through the careful organisation and planning of our courses, a commitment to develop high quality teaching materials and to communicate these in the most effective way including through a variety of methods of e-communication. There is a strong emphasis on professional practice and employment skills. Whichever course you take undergraduate, postgraduate or short courses for professional development, our aim is to provide a supportive learning environment, one that encompasses both subject specific and non academic support. The Community Health Subject area is also closely linked to the Centre for Primary Health & Social Care, the Centre works with health, social care, independent and voluntary sectors and offers project management, practice development, research and evaluation as well as specialist inter-professional education and training packages to support meaningful career progression. Our activities support the development of best practice and outcomes in health and social care working in partnership with our key stakeholders and especially service users.
