Flash CS5.5 Adobe Certified Associate (ACA)

The Adobe Flash ACA short course is designed to prepare you for the ACA exam in Flash. The course content is broken into two parts: on the Monday and Tuesday is the beginners course, and on the Wednesday to Friday is the intermediate course, including the ACA Exam taken on the Friday. Taken together, both parts of the course cover the whole ACA syllabus. Those who decide to take the intermediate course are expected to have a good working knowledge of the basics of flash. The course includes lectures, tutorials and workshops, which cover every aspect of Flash relevant to the ACA exam. The course runs at our Holloway Road Tech Tower Building from 10am till 5pm with a 1 hour lunch break.

This course will also run as a part time course for 1 evening a week from 6-8.30pm over 10 weeks, starting in the autumn.

    • Indentifying the needs of users and clients
    • Understanding how to develop accessible media
    • Project management issues and responsibilities

  • Identifying Rich Media Design Elements
    • Identifying best practice in designing Flash specific content for web applications.
    • Understanding design principles
    • Using storyboards
    • Organizing the Flash workspace.

  • Understanding Adobe Flash Interface
    • Using the properties inspector
    • Understanding the timeline
    • Using the motion guide, guides and rulers
    • Understanding and using the Flash interface

  • Building Rich Media Elements by Using Flash
    • Use tools on the Tools panel to select, create, and manipulate graphics and text
    • Importing and modifying graphics
    • Create text and adjusting text properties.
    • Create objects and convert them to symbols, including graphics, movie clips, and buttons.
    • Understand symbols and the library, editing symbols and instances
    • Create masks.
    • Create animations
    • Add simple controls through ActionScript 3.0.
    • Importing and using sound and video.
    • Publish and export Flash documents

  • Evaluating Rich Media Elements by Using Flash
    • Understanding basic technical tests
    • Understand basic usability techniques

Certification

  • Adobe Certified Associate (on successful completion of the official ACA exam)

Minimum Knowledge Prerequisite

  • Beginners: None
  • Intermediate: Must demonstrate a basic working knowledge of Flash.
