With London Met's Superlab, one of the largest and most advanced teaching labs in Europe, our biosciences students have the advantage of studying in a state-of-the-art £30 million Science Centre, with more than 280 workstations and specialist laboratories. You'll have the opportunity to develop hands-on skills that employers look for, as well as a detailed understanding of everything from biological systems at molecular level to ecosystems.

Our skilled lecturing team of ex-practitioners deliver a range of high-quality biosciences courses, with the specific aim of producing highly qualified graduates who have both interdisciplinary subject-specific technical skills, and transferable core skills. London Met also has an active research group, the Cellular Molecular and Immunology Research Centre, which covers areas such as immunology, haematology, microbiology and biochemistry.

Our students have the rare advantage of working in our £30 million Science Centre, which features a Superlab with more than 280 workstations. The Superlab is one of the largest and most advanced science teaching facilities in Europe, and offers exceptional teaching and research facilities, which gives our students a cutting-edge experience. The Science Centre also houses specialist laboratories for tissue culture research and microbiology. With such facilities, it's no surprise that our graduates have gone on to work for global employers such as GlaxoSmithKline.

Our employability record

Employability is at the heart of our education ethos. Here at London Met we are immensely proud of our employability record, with 97.73% of graduates from the School of Human Sciences in work or further study within six months of graduating (Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey 2016–17, released July 2018).
