Housing and Pleasure
In autumn there will be Sweetwater/ PDZ4, a scheme of housing to a real brief on a site in the Olympic park in East London.
Housing has its own character and culture-heavily rule bound, slightly mechanical but captivating and full of the pleasure of providing homes and places for present and future generations.
In spring there will be BFI Southbank, a new building for the National Film Theatre.
Located partly under Waterloo Bridge, expediently altered, comfortable and decrepit, the existing National Film Theatre is a cherished institution. Can these qualities be re-created in a new building in a location next to the London Eye?
