This project has a focus on European integration, and our network aims to promote active citizenship in young people through guidance on training education professionals and young researchers.
It links 25 institutions in a network from 17 states that are involved in training education professionals (teachers, social pedagogues, early childhood workers, youth workers etc). Our network is concerned with citizenship education (CE) and the development of identities in young people.
The field of CE is variously constructed and may be addressed through a number of academic disciplines reflected in school and training programmes (Eurodice 2012). With respect to this, our network will bring together a range of disciplines, including sociology, psychology, education studies, history, and politics.
This multinational, multidisciplinary, cross-sectorial network will add value, achieving what could not be achieved at a national level alone with potential to increase interest, understanding and active citizenship in the EU.
