The Centre for Research into Media, Identity and Culture is a vibrant hub for research and teaching in communications, cultural and media studies.
The Centre aims to encourage synergies between research and teaching and to foster excellence in the study of media, cultural formations, identities and experiences, especially in relation to social, economic and political change. It also aims to promote interdisciplinary collaborations within the School of Media, Culture and Communications and the School of Computing and Digital Media
Research in the Centre is organised around four research clusters:
- Communications and Subjectivity
- Film and TV: Representation, History and Practice
- Community Media
- Subcultures and Popular Music
