BA (Hons) Motion Graphics

The BA Motion Graphics course is in its fourth year and has once again achieved some particularly exciting results. The students have explored key traditional processes and technical applications within typography, graphics, digital illustration, compositing and special effects achieving some outstanding solutions this year. This course encourages a traditional and technical approach to graphic design for screen based communication. The merging of disciplines has amplified the need for designers to understand the multiplicity of the screen image within television, web, advertising, branding, theatre, corporate events, music promotion, and information graphics.

The course establishes key principles of motion graphics associated with the growing demand for technically and creatively informed digital practitioners within the broadcast industry and advertising. Through particular studio sessions students were encouraged to explore key traditional processes and their technical application within typography, graphics, digital illustration, compositing and special effects. As seen within this years Summer Show 2013 students have successfully explored and developed a personal style through critically and theoretically debate, gaining a sensitive to change whilst exploiting digital technologies
