BA (Hons) Jewellery and Silversmithing Degree Show

On the BA (Hons) Jewellery and Silversmithing at ‘The Cass’ our focus is on individual creative expression through the development of fine skills together with intelligent thinking about design, craft and technology.

Students work with traditional techniques and new technologies in state of the art workshops with hands-on technical expertise. Always the emphasis is on ideas and conceptual depth while encouraging an eye for detail and finish. Our students’ work can be surprising in its range to those expecting a more traditional understanding of what jewellery is - our students are able to create diverse projects in a huge variety of media including film and dance (see the work of Rachel Philips, one of our graduating students in 2012.

We have an abundance of live projects and industry connections – look out for the work that has won prizes, has been designed and made in response to competitions or industry briefs, or is the result of a live project or commission.
