Priyanka Chakraborty from India discusses her experience of studying the MA Education course at London Met, made possible by her GREAT Scholarship.
What did receiving this scholarship mean to you?
I received the GREAT London Metropolitan Scholarship 2016. This award came as a pleasant surprise. I felt honoured to be appreciated for all my hard work. It gave me the confidence and motivation as I felt privileged to be a part of the noble field of education.
What do you like best about your course?
The modules are very interesting and intellectually very stimulating. It has given me a different perception of education and has exposed me to various educational development programmes around the world. The assignments are very challenging and have provided me with the opportunity to read about renowned philosophers and educationalists.
Does anything surprise you about your course or London Met?
To be a part of the University is a wonderful experience. The cultural diversity is worth mentioning. Our lecturers and other non-teaching staff are warm and efficient. The help provided by the University is excellent. The library is the best part of the University and is where I have spent my most precious time since being in London. I am proud to be a scholar at London Metropolitan University.
What are your career plans once you complete your course?
The postgraduate degree that I will be earning will provide me with the opportunity to return to my country with an extensive knowledge gained in education. It will allow me to introduce good educational practices from around the world. It has provided me with the skills to increase my efficiency and effectiveness as a teacher.
