Find out what Art and Design Extended Degree (with Foundation Year) student Jo Lamoureaux enjoyed the most on her course, and what she plans to do next in her art practice.
What projects have appealed to you most so far?
Early on in the course, we completed a project where we developed a series of quick abstract drawings, allowing shapes to form and grow into something a long way from its starting point. There was another project in which we used plasticine to create 32 tiny models. I loved both of these and now, this term, I have had the freedom and opportunity to go back and develop these projects in my own way. I was able to shape and cut into the plasticine in great detail, to create ornate objects developed from my drawings.
What is the next step for you?
I plan to use new mould making and casting techniques to replicate my models in different materials, and decorate with glass beads, to end up with my most ambitious work so far.
